Despite recently signing a non-exclusive deal with Warner Bros, Tom Cruise's collaboration with Paramount seems to be far from over. Reports have surfaced indicating that Top Gun 3 is currently in the works at Paramount, with Ehren Kruger, co-writer of Top Gun: Maverick, penning the initial draft.

The potential project is expected to bring together Cruise with Top Gun: Maverick co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell, along with producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison. Joe Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick, is reportedly being considered for either directing or producing the new installment. Even with the ongoing developments at Warner Bros, Cruise's schedule with Paramount remains packed, as he is currently filming Mission: Impossible 8. Additionally, a space-themed film with NASA, directed by Doug Liman, is in the works at Universal.
