Studiocanal showcased actor Gilles Lellouche’s upcoming feature film Beating Hearts (L’Amour Ouf) at the Unifrance Paris Rendez-vous this week. The film's first images were revealed to packed-out screenings at the Royal Monceau hotel in Paris.

The Unconventional Romance

Beating Hearts, an unconventional romance, features François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos as former childhood sweethearts from different backgrounds. The modern retelling of the Romeo and Juliet tale unfolds against the tough backdrop of Dublin’s suburb of Ballyfermot in the 1980s, transposed to France by Lellouche.

The Stellar Cast and Crew

Gilles Lellouche, along with co-stars François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos, presented the film at the Studiocanal event. The actor-director praised his collaborators and producers for supporting this daring project, emphasizing the need for 'crazy producers' to bring his vision to life.

The Bold and Colorful Story

The promo images of Beating Hearts hint at a bold, colorful portrayal of a passionate love story set against a rights-cleared $1M 1980s soundtrack. The film promises to oscillate between the couple’s innocent teenage years and their more violent reunion, capturing the essence of a violent love story.

Other Releases at Unifrance Paris Rendez-vous

Studiocanal also introduced Marjane Satrapi’s Paris Paradis and Pablo Agüero’s Saint-Exupéry at the Unifrance Paris Rendez-vous. Paris Paradis pays tribute to the director's adopted city, while Saint-Exupéry delves into a pivotal Argentinian Andes episode in the legendary aviator’s life.
