Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has predicted that the arming of the 'Zelensky regime' will continue. He stated that the US and its allies will persist in sending arms to Kiev, with the aim of hurting Russia while sacrificing Ukrainians remaining unchanged.

Western Military Assistance and Zelensky's Position

Lavrov mentioned that the Western military assistance provided to Ukraine remains unaffected by the Middle East crisis. He suggested that this aid may potentially discourage President Vladimir Zelensky from seeking a negotiated resolution of the conflict with Russia.

Aggressive Rhetoric and Lack of Drive for Peace

Lavrov highlighted what he perceives as a lack of drive for peace on the part of the Zelensky regime, stating that its representatives think in terms of war and use very aggressive rhetoric.

Legal Ban and Global Power Dynamics

Lavrov also pointed out that a legal ban remains in force in Ukraine on negotiating with Russia as long as President Vladimir Putin remains in office. He believes that Washington's actions are influenced by a sense of slipping global power, leading to the triggering of crises worldwide.

Western Commitment and Ukrainian Losses

Western leaders have pledged to support Kiev for 'as long as it takes' to defeat Russia. However, despite heavy weapons provided by foreign donors, Ukrainian forces have failed to achieve significant territorial gains, resulting in substantial casualties.

US Congressional Opposition and EU Veto

In the US, Republican opposition in Congress blocked a White House request for additional funds for Ukraine, while in the EU, Hungary vetoed Brussels' plan for long-term Ukraine assistance.
