A 14-year-old teenager from Miramonte, California, was arrested after allegedly killing his parents and critically injuring his younger sister. The Fresno County Sheriff's Department has charged the boy with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder for the attacks against his family.
Deceptive Story Unveiled
The incident unfolded when deputies responded to a 911 call reporting injured people at the boy's family home. The teenager claimed that an intruder had broken into the house and attacked his parents and sister before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck. However, upon investigating the home, detectives found evidence that contradicted the boy's account, leading to the revelation that he had fabricated the story. The sheriff's office determined that the boy was responsible for using multiple weapons to carry out the violent attacks.
Victims and Survivors
Tragically, the boy's 37-year-old parents, identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, lost their lives in the attack. His 11-year-old sister sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive after undergoing surgery and receiving medical care. Fortunately, the boy's seven-year-old brother, who was also present during the attacks, was unharmed and is now in the care of other family members.
Law Enforcement Insight
Sheriff John Zanoni emphasized the prevalence of readily available weapons in rural areas and the potential consequences when they fall into the wrong hands. He highlighted the commonality of self-protection measures such as knives and firearms in such regions, noting that unfortunately, in this case, these weapons were used in a violent manner by a 14-year-old. The motive behind the attacks remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
