The 2023 Asian Cup is approaching the end of the group stages, with most teams still in contention for a spot in the knockout rounds. As the tournament progresses, teams are battling it out for the top two spots in each group to secure automatic qualification, while others are vying for a chance to advance as one of the best third-placed finishers.
Knockout Qualification Criteria
The top two teams from each of the six groups will automatically advance to the round of 16, and they will be joined by the four best third-placed finishers. In the case of teams finishing with the same number of points, tiebreakers including head-to-head results, goal difference, goals scored, fair play points, and drawing of lots will be used to determine their rankings.
